I have been wanting to redo our main bathroom
for a long time. This is the bathroom that our kids use as well as guests. Before it was so dark and dreary. I was trying to use the shower curtain that I already had. I also found a full gallon of extra white paint in semi-gloss that the previous owners had used on the trim and doors. I figured I could use that and save a lot of money!
When I moved into my (Steph) house 4 years ago,
the master bedroom had a closet in the hallway and a second, walk-in closet. I thought the hallway closet was adequate and the walk-in would be a great room for storage and an audio recording booth (I know, nerdy and not really on most peoples’ ‘must’ list- but it was on mine).
Now that I have made a recording booth in my office closet, I was ready to make the walk-in closet- well, a closet! Follow the journey below…
As part of my new garage project
I made up this self supporting heavy duty shelf. Using building materials to keep the cost down and taking about a day to complete this shelf ain’t going’ no-where! Included are photos and a You Tube video showing all the steps involved.

I’ve been wanting to do this project for years but was too intimidated by it–especially since it involved a sewing machine–and now that Rob and I will be welcoming a baby girl in a few short months,
