Makeover Farmhouse Bathroom

I also took this shelf that I had got at a yardsale for $2 and stained it with General Finishes Gel Stain in Antique Walnut. I was wanting some warm wood accents and this fit the bill perfectly.
The painting and everything only took about 3 hours.

I thought the shelf turned out really beautifully! If you have not used General Finishes Gel Stain, I highly recommend trying it out! I used a wipe on method with an old rag. This is the color after just one coat.

I found these old looking bath salts at the Dollar Tree! It’s amazing what you can find there sometimes! You can see the shower curtain I had been using before and it worked out better than I could have imagined to keep it and work with it.

I hung the shelf at the same place where the two paints meet. It created a really seamless look!

I brightened the color a bit so the paint would stand out. It wasn’t showing up very well in the pictures! It’s a very subtle paint in person. I love how it gives it just enough interest. It’s not plain stark white, the top color adds a bit of warmth.
This whole project cost under $20. I used paint I had on hand, all decorating stuff I had on hand, I just needed more paint rollers and a paint brush and frog tape.
Thanks for looking! I had so much fun with this project and love how it turned out. It’s amazing what you can do with stuff you have around the house sometimes!
