Geometric Statement Wall

When I found out I was pregnant,

I knew I wanted to do a gender neutral nursery.

We weren’t finding out the gender of the baby (spoiler! I had a girl!) and I didn’t want the room to feel ‘too’ gendered one way or the other. I decided it was a great opportunity to add metallic accents to the basic white window wall – gold is gender neutral right? 😉

Fashionable Vanity Makeover

Some people rescue pets. I rescue furniture.

This was AFTER I stripped off the top

Do you see that? The broken foot? The chipped veneer? The top was all buckled and it’s already stripped in this picture. So there’s actually a before before lol!! She was in a damp basement on the East End of Long Island and was begging to come home with me.

Old Fridge Transformation

A client of mine lives in a studio apartment in Queens.

His space is very industrial -dark gray ceiling, metal cubes for a coffee table,

and he even poured his own concrete floors to add to the industrial look he is going for.

So, when faced with what to do about his out-dated white appliances, we decided to paint his fridge instead of getting him a new one! There are a few products out there that promise

MATERIALS: 4″ roller tool 4″ foam roller (later on in the project I switched to a regular roller) Angled paint brush Paint Tray Rust-Oleum’s Stainless Steel paint Black spray paint (optional) Phillips head screwdriver Wrench Respirator

Crate Storage Unit

If you’re in need of storage

but don’t want to go out and buy a cheap, plastic cabinet or drop a bunch of money on a nice storage cabinet, here is a great solution!

This crate storage unit is both functional and a piece of unique, rustic decor. I love the way it turned out!

For this project, I used 3 wooden crates, 3 wire baskets, danish oil, wood stain, wood glue, and some screws.

Fairy House From Cinder Block

Now that Fall is approaching

and the outside temperature has become bearable again (it’s a little awful when it’s above 100…),

my 6 year old daughter and I decided it’s the perfect time of year to do an outdoor project together that we would both enjoy.

We have a large oak tree behind our house that has a rock bed around it that was put there by the previous owner of the home. Inside the rock bed, the ground just sprouts tall, dry, ugly weeds in the Summer and Fall, and somewhat greener ugly weeds in the winter and Spring (assuming we get any rainfall).
