Charming as some of the features in the house are it was also tired and old. We decided to make a few cosmetic updates before renting. We started in the kitchen with painting the cabinets and then moved onto the countertops. I wanted to try a concrete skim coat I had seen on Pinterest. So, as usual, I jumped in.
Window treatments can be very expensive.
So I made my own DIY window valance with some simple tools, two products, basic skills, and less than $5! Those two products can be purchased at your local dollar store: foam board and coffee filters!
I knew it was time to organize this closet when
I couldn’t close the door any more! Not too mention, things will fall over my head (almost) every time I opened it.
Question was, how to use it as both linen and cleaning closet.
The answer, as often, easier than it appears: it all comes down to good organization.

With Valentine’s day around the corner we
needed to come up with a unique way to make some place card holders. I don’t know about you but January is always a rough month. Money is tight and it just seems like it’s the longest month ever. I had to dig really deep into our craft cupboard to make these little heart topiaries. Can you guess what they’re made from?
We were going to remove the cabinets but
when the rescued dog chewed them up we moved faster!
This is what we started with after the base cabinets and built in china cabinet was removed. I failed to get pictures of the demolition, sorry. Basically we took a hammer and screw gun to remove the old stuff.
