Upcycle – Watermelon Wreath

April is Earth month and the perfect time to think

about those upcycle projects! This cute watermelon wreath was made with tin can lids!

Crafting can get expensive – especially if you run a craft blog. So I save all kinds of materials to use in my projects. For this project, I used 14 tin can lids.
****Edit Added: I know several people are wary of using tin can lids because of sharp edges. I personally have never had a problem as I work with metal all the time. However, I understand this can be a concern. After this was posted, several people have left some wonderful ideas in the comments that could help with this concern. One idea was to use canning lids – love that. And another is using a can opener such as the one from Pampered Chef that does not leave sharp edges. ****

Adds Kitchen Storage IKEA Hack

We use every inch of every space in our kitchen.

It’s a large kitchen, and we use it all. My mother recently pointed out that we had some wasted space at the end of a cabinet, and she suggested we build a book shelf there for my cookbooks. I took her idea and ran with it and came up with a great IKEA hack that adds kitchen storage that we love.

Easy Decor Ideas – Decorate An Outdoor Lantern For Spring

I purchased on sale a large black outdoor lantern

last fall for my front porch. It has a battery-operated candle that can be automatically set to turn on and off every evening. I loved that it added more light to the front porch for decor and security reasons. But I was not thrilled that it was pretty plain and basic looking.

We Bought a Camper, Instead of Remodeling!

Our family is growing (with grandchildren) and

we are running out of sleeping room up at the lake. Last spring we bought this old canned ham and made her into our Bunkhouse, her name is Betty Lou! The cost on this project does not include the cost of the camper which was $800.00.

Updo Flowery Fireplace

After a gas fire and back boiler removal

I was left with an ugly Space. I fancied something easy, quick and unique to add character to my new lounge. I bought some chicken wire and set about using some of my fake flowers gathered cheaply from flea markets and Ebay.
