Updo Flowery Fireplace

I bought a 10 metre roll of chicken wire from DIY store of which I used half. I tacked two half metre wide lengths on using cable clips. (On hindsight U staples would probably have been slightly easier)

Where the chicken wire covered the front of the opening, I cut it and folded it to cover the side walls. It fitted perfectly to the back.

Then came the fun part. I randomly poked in the fake flowers and leaves to cover the chicken wire. Some of the flowers were attached with garden wire to help them sit better.

In the upper area I hung a mirror which I had bought a fortnight before for £25 from the local Gumtree ads.

I painted the cement at the bottom brown and placed some fairy lights in a glass bowl. I decorated the inside chicken wire with fake leaves.

Apart from 2-3 hours spent threading in the blooms the whole project was very quick and easy to achieve.

….And it’s pretty unique I think.
