Pastel Colors Kitchen Makeover

Our kitchen doesn’t get a ton of natural light,

so I have wanted to lighten up my cabinets for years. My original kitchen wishlist included new countertops, new tile backsplash, farmhouse sink, the list goes on. My husband, being the sensible one, had finally given in to letting me paint, but wasn’t keen on replacing perfectly functional countertops and backsplash.

30’s Liquor Cabinet Ready to Shine Again

I found this Liquor cabinet on Facebook marketplace and was super excited to start working on it!

it didn’t look like much but I knew it had lots of potential. I had picked it up at a mobile home park in Houston. When I saw that it was made in London I wondered how it got to Houston. That is a beauty of working with vintage furniture and the beauty of owning them is that it tells a story. I imagined this piece has seen many lavish parties and my goal was to make it look as posh as possible so it can be a star of the party once again!

Ugly Stovetop Coverup the Memaw’s Way

I have scrubbed and scrubbed my flat top stove and it is clean but some marks just won’t budge! I also have a very small kitchen and limited counter space.

I wanted something that was beautiful, unique and useful. I decided to make a stoveboard to cover and help with added counter space. I am a staining artist and love to incorporate my work into my home.

Transform Broken Buffet

Sometimes repairing a furniture piece

can cost more than buying something brand new and it can be more work than if you just built something from scratch. This buffet was one of those pieces. Linda reached out to us asking if we could some how make this buffet come back to life. It’s been in her family for generations and it had been living outside for quite a while so it needed MUCH love to make it usable (or even make it stand up for that matter). John looked at me like I was crazy when I said, sure we can.

Wood Pallet Shed

The hubby got the idea from Pinterest

after searching for some wood storage sheds. We have a fire pit we built a few years ago in the backyard, and the firewood was currently being stored on the ground next to the shed. He thought it was messy and wanted to tidy it up a bit and I couldn’t have agreed more.

I’m going to start out by saying something here, something that is quite unusual in my household, but here it is… This was the hubby’s idea! Check out his $15 Wood Pallet Shed.
