DIY Bathroom Stone Knobs

My rental apartment bathroom

has this old vanity with very dated knobs that I really didn’t like.

I didn’t want to spend a lot of money replace them so I opted to make my own with dollar store stones! Turns out is was very easy to do.

These are the original knobs that I removed by simply unscrewing them. Since I’m a renter, I’ll just hold on to them until I move out and put them back.

Metal File Cabinets Makeover

A couple of months before Christmas,

my youngest son tells me that he really needs a bigger desk.

The old, “This end up” desk he’s been using since he was about 5, is no longer cutting it.

If you have any “This end up” furniture, you know that it lasts forever. So if you’re waiting for it to wear out, that is just not going to happen.

Easy DIY Bookshelves

Hi! It’s Andrea from Target + Tory.

I love to DIY, whereas Shannon loves to BUY.

I knew our toy room was in need of a makeover when I could barely walk in it. The Ikea Expedit cubbies we had been using were NOT cutting it.
(When you are done here, check out the full version at http://www.targetandtory.com/diy-bookshelves-beginning-builder/)

THE DREADFUL BEFORE (don’t judge, lol)

I can’t believe that picture actually is out for the world to see. I made the kids go through everything and throw away / donate as much as possible (it’s always their favorite toy ever when we get to this point). I knew that we had some large items that needed storage, so I decided tall bookshelves would be the best decision.

Instant Shower Storage For Less Than $20

Need more shower storage?

I definitely did!

There’s nothing worse than trying to get clean while bottles and

soap containers are falling on your toes. Instead of adding shelves or making a more permenant (read: expensive) change to my shower,

I came up with a simple solution! I used a tension rod, shower baskets, and some curtain hooks to create more shower space. It’s simple and space saving.

Closet Door Built-In Storage

Okay, so I have to admit, I have A LOT of shoes.

I’m not the type to put away my summer shoes during winter,

because you never know when you need a pair of flip flops or open-toe heels during the colder months

(call me crazy but I don’t stick with the close-toe heel rule…if there is one).

Because I don’t put away my summer shoes, coupled with the fact that I have a ridiculously small closet, it can look
BEFORE:
HOT MESS!!!
I promise all of my clothes are nicely hung and in some what of a style coordination, however, I don’t want to ruin my knit cardigans by hanging them on hangers so I just hang them over the middle of my closet rack. If anyone has a solution to this issue, please feel free to share! I don’t have any drawer space for them, otherwise I’d fold them. I’m beginning to think I’m going to need to figure out another project for additional clothes storage (maybe I’ll mount some more crates on the wall..?).
