Giving new life to a tired old piece of
thrift store furniture – creating this fabulous makeover for my guest room!
So I stumbled across this piece at a local thrift store and thought it would be prefect for my guest room! Just a matter of finding time to redo it….LOL And, as always around here first things first – removed drawers, hardware and took it out to the back alley for a good sanding and cleaning. Then it was time to repair legs and top. Glued the legs back together and then filed in all the “chunks” of missing wood with my AE Texture Medium – this poor little piece had seen it’s better days…..:(
I’ve had this rug in my house that is in desperate
need of a makeover. If you’re like me (and I bet you are), you despise throwing away an item that could simply be refurbished or made into something new! My $12 IKEA rug with coffee stains and all, has now been transformed into a trendy bohemian-style rug using only Sharpie markers and a quart of paint. Give it a try! We want to help you DIY, so some of the materials in this post are linked to sellers. Just so you know, Hometalk may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.
I love a good thrift store upcycle project,
and when we recently updated our dining room to reflect our cottage farmhouse style I was looking for things to add some of that “fixer upper” style. I found these goodies at the thrift store and turned them into a vintage farmhouse style wall sconce!
Have an elf but need a heart?
No problem! Re-shaping cookie cutters that you will never use into ones you love is as rewarding as it is economical!
