Farmhouse Wall Sconce from A Christmas Tray & Candle Stick

After that was thorough dry, I switched to using a can of brush on chalkboard paint and randomly brushed it on over the silver and working with it until I got a finish that reminded me a bit of aged pewter.

After the tray and candle holder was completely dry I used an angle bracket to attach them together.

Finally, using hot glue I used a saw tooth type hook on the back of the tray so it could easily and securely hung on the wall.

I now have it hung on the gallery wall of our farmhouse style dining room We remodeled our dining room during a challenge that allowed us $100 and only 4 weeks to complete, so this thrift store upcycle project fit the budget at only $5.50. I already had the paint on hand!

I made this for decor purposes only and don’t recommend ever lighting the candle! The paint is not heatproof, and using hot glue for hold can be unpredictable!
