Your Ceilings Dress Up With Faux Tin Ceiling Tiles

Have you ever been in a house built

in the early 1900’s that had the original pressed tin ceilings? My great grandmother had them in her bathroom and I remember being fascinated by her “fancy” ceiling even though the metal tiles were rusted and chippy. Did you know you can buy faux tin ceiling tiles at a fraction of the cost of the real thing that are incredibly easy to put up? We installed some in our small half bathroom and I just love how it adds a vintage flair to our new room.

Make a 5 Minute Patio Table

Spring is finally upon us! Hallelujah!!!

I’ve been waiting for this nice weather since last summer ended and now the time has come to start sprucing up our yard again. Because of the layout of our yard, we don’t have a great space for patio furniture so when we have guests over, we sit family-style on a big picnic table Rob made a few years ago and once the stars come out, we usually gather around our little campfire in beach chairs and on 2 makeshift benches Rob made out of driftwood we picked up at Montauk Point. However, our guests usually sit their drinks on the ground so this project is the perfect solution to that small issue.

How to Use Wallpaper as a Removable Statement Art Piece

Design Dilemma- you update one part

of your room and then you have to update all of it. It’s a serious problem people!! Case in point- my new super awesome patterned wall panels! I was lucky enough to win a roll of wallcovering from 2Modern several months ago. Since then I’ve thought about how I would use it in our home. I couldn’t hang it the traditional way since we are only renting and can’t put anything permanent on the walls. I’ve seen online where people use starch to hang fabric but that seems really messy and I wasn’t sure if it would work for wallpaper or not. So what was my quick, no nail, non-permanent solution? Command Strips!
