Cheap Easy Storage
Plastic soda bottles are not that interesting. However, that changes completely if you view them as your next DIY project.
You cut a hole in each bottle; then put inside all the nuts and bolts, and set them on a wall fixture in the garage.
While it does require some skill, it is definitely a cheap alternative.
