How to Building a Barbecue

He built up the levels and let the mortar set for a day or two.

Then he painted the cinder blocks with concrete paint.

He used tile mastic to adhere the granite top to the cinder block base.

This piece of granite was very heavy and was designed with a hole where the barbecue would sit. He also made some simple doors out of pine and attached the door frame to the cinder block using concrete anchors.

My job was to paint the doors black. He hung the doors using regular old hinges.

He tried caulking the barbecue in place but that didn’t work so well, so he used the mastic again and permanent clamps that can’t be seen because they are on the inside.

And here it is all completed! Husband was a barbecuing machine!!!
