How Easy to Make Farmhouse Chalkboard!

Next, I stained them using my favorite stain. I love how the stain brings out the dents and grooves from distressing them.
I also drilled some pilot holes for attaching them to the chalkboard.

I attached the 1 x 2’s to the chalkboard using screws and hex nuts. I attached a piece of rope for hanging it by using a hammer to nail in an electrical staple to the back of the board.

Next, I seasoned the board by rubbing a piece of chalk all over it and then wiping it off with a dry cloth. It’s important to season chalkboards so you don’t get ghost marks when you erase your writing later on.

Lastly, I printed out a quote and transferred it to my new chalkboard.
Learn how to transfer printed text here. For chalkboards, use chalk; for any other project, use pencil.

I love my new farmhouse style chalkboard!
